Club Tendances Carbone

The purpose of Club Tendances Carbone is to enable its members to mutualize and improve their knowledge of the European CO₂ allowances market and its stakes.

Meetings are held three times a year to discuss documents prepared by the Mission Climat of Caisse des Dépôts, Powernext, and other club members when possible. These documents give a synthetic overview of the evolutions of the European CO₂ allowances market through the analysis of both its functioning in the past and the major upcoming issues (for instance: the connection to the international transaction registry –ITL). These technical documents are complemented by a deeper analysis of one particular issue related to carbon finance or the European market. This part is presented during the Club meeting by four or five renowned experts of the subject with whom Club members can then debate.

A dedicated website was created to provide Club members with the latest available news: www.clubtendancescarbone.com. All club related documents, along with data sets from indicators of “Tendances Carbone”, a joint publication by Mission Climat of Caisse des Dépôts and Powernext, are available online.

The scientific content of Club Tendances Carbon is produced by teams from Mission Climat and Powernext, with the support of academic researchers from major institutions, both French (Université Paris-Dauphine, Université de Grenoble, Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole des Mines...) and international (MIT, University College Dublin...). Members’ contributions are welcome as well.
